Stu Nolan (they/them) is a queer writer, producer, and transplant from Utah currently living on unceded Ohlone lands. Their creative work explores the dynamic intersections between internal and external environments, ecological kinships, and emotional landscapes. Whether the medium is soil or stories, they are passionate about working collaboratively to seed a future where living beings thrive.

Writing about interconnectedness, researching native plants, playing Capoeira, working in community gardens, admiring birds, making soups for loved ones, talking with strangers, and dancing up a storm.

From working in arts non-profits, podcasting, public radio, event production, and documentary engagement, Stu is committed to amplifying impactful stories that invite us into deeper connections with one another and the more-than-human world towards the aim of collective liberation. Their work has brought them to: ITVS (Independent Lens), The Sundance Film Festival, Voxtopica, 826 Valencia, RadioWest (KUER Utah), KRCL Community Radio, Twig Media Lab, Western Humanities Review, Liora Films, Damn These Heels Queer Film Festival, and most recently, to Art Humanitas as the Volunteer Community Development Manager for the 2027 San Francisco Art, Nature, Ecology Biennale.
